A feel for Wallingford & Green Lake

Wallingford sits between Fremont’s commercial energy and Green Lake’s recreational loop. Gas Works Park is the visitor anchor: skyline views and a landscape that keeps its industrial history visible.

Continue through 45th Street for neighborhood food, small bars and Archie McPhee’s deliberately odd retail. Green Lake gives the outing a simple finish: walk or run the loop, pause by the water and find a nearby meal.

Shape your day

  1. Begin at Gas Works Park and walk part of the Burke-Gilman corridor.

  2. Explore 45th Street and Archie McPhee; stop for lunch or a neighborhood bar.

  3. Finish with the Green Lake loop and an early evening meal.
