From Mat’s trips

A feel for Downtown & Belltown

Start around Pike Place Market, First Avenue and the waterfront. Connect the familiar stops with the Seattle Art Museum, Olympic Sculpture Park and Elliott Bay path, paying attention to the city’s steep east-west grade.

Belltown works well as an evening extension for dinner, drinks and a walk toward the water. Downtown changes block by block, and some office corridors grow quiet after working hours.

Shape your day

  1. Early Pike Place visit, then First Avenue, SAM and the waterfront.

  2. Walk north through Belltown to Olympic Sculpture Park and the Elliott Bay path.

  3. Return for dinner and a reserved cocktail stop when needed.
