A feel for University District

Start with a walk through the University of Washington campus. My connection comes from studying HCDE here. On a clear day, Rainier lines up with the campus axis and can make quite a first impression.

Across 15th Avenue, University Way—the Ave—has student restaurants and a different pace from campus. Link connects the district with downtown and the airport.

For the second half of the day, choose a direction: Ravenna Park, University Village, the Montlake Cut or a Burke-Gilman stretch toward Wallingford and Gas Works.

Shape your day

  1. Arrive by Link and walk the main campus axis toward the Rainier viewpoint.

  2. Explore the libraries, academic buildings and stadium edge according to visitor access.

  3. Eat on the Ave, choosing something that suits your appetite.

  4. Choose Ravenna Park, University Village, Agua Verde kayaking or a Burke Gilman segment for the second half of the day.
